About the Designer
Ganitzia Vargas, the creative founder behind GVXO, is a proud Mexican-American designer raised in Chicago, Illinois. As a first-generation Latina, Ganitzia knew from a young age that her future was in the arts. Fascinated by fabric manipulation and determined to pursue fashion on her own terms, she charted a path away from conventional expectations.
After completing an Apparel Design course in high school, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from Columbia College Chicago—all while working full-time as an administrator. This unique blend of creative passion and business discipline became the foundation for GVXO. Driven by a deep concern for the fashion industry’s environmental impact, Ganitzia launched her brand to marry her sustainability values with edgy, one-of-a-kind design.
Her mission? To honor her roots, protect the planet, and empower others through wearable art. “All baby Gani wanted to do was share her passion with the world,” she says, “and I’m so glad you all allow me to do just that.”
