Marceli Azra to Join REVIVE - Paris Fashion Week S/S 2027 Runway

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PARIS, FRANCE — September 2026 — Independent designer Marceli Azra will be among the featured designers presented by Revive Fashion Week during Season 7 of REVIVE – Paris Fashion Week on October 2, 2026, as part of the Spring/Summer 2027 fashion season.

Operating outside the traditional fashion system, Marceli Azra approaches garment construction as a strict exercise in sculptural tailoring, material experimentation, and zero-waste craftsmanship. Drawing from a background in visual arts and an appreciation for Scandinavian circularity and slow fashion, the designer creates a calculated collision between functionalism and the emotional weight of his Slavic roots.

Through the manual deconstruction and reconstruction of discarded heavy textiles, Marceli transforms raw materials into highly structured silhouettes that exist between garment and sculpture. His work explores the concept of clothing as armor, creating pieces that function simultaneously as an intimate second skin and an unyielding protective structure.

A New Approach to Modern Armor

For Season 7 of REVIVE – Paris Fashion Week, Marceli Azra will present a raw and highly structural Spring/Summer 2027 collection centered on brutalist deconstruction, asymmetric geometry, heavy textiles, and industrial hardware.

A central focus of the presentation will be Marceli’s upcycled leather prototypes, which challenge conventional proportions through sculptural and androgynous forms. Rather than approaching the garment as a conventional fashion piece, the collection treats the body as a foundation for architectural construction, creating silhouettes that emphasize structure, utility, and physical presence.

The collection reflects Marceli’s belief that inspiration should come from the materials themselves rather than from predetermined fashion aesthetics. Discarded materials are manually deconstructed and rebuilt, allowing their weight, texture, and physical qualities to dictate the resulting forms.

The result is an uncompromising exploration of utility, protection, physical autonomy, and quiet rebellion.

From Visual Arts to Sculptural Tailoring

Marceli Azra’s creative practice began in visual arts and digital graphics, where garments initially served as canvases for graphic expression. His approach to fashion fundamentally shifted while studying Swedish Philology and becoming exposed to Scandinavian principles of circularity and slow fashion.

That experience prompted Marceli to abandon ready-made garments and develop a deeper understanding of clothing construction from the ground up. He independently studied pattern-making and heavy tailoring, developing the technical skills necessary to physically manipulate and construct garments.

That transition became a defining point in his practice and established his commitment to working directly with materials rather than relying on mass-produced foundations.

Today, Marceli’s work reflects a belief that independent fashion should involve a physical struggle with the material. His practice challenges the logic of mass production through craftsmanship, deconstruction, and the transformation of discarded textiles into new forms.
